Stampington Goodies

Recently I got a big, and I mean big, order from Stampington & Co. Resin, alcohol inks, and tons more, but these were the things that I was inspired to photograph.

Part of my order. Yum. I can't wait to jump into those French papers!

I have been wanting to read this book for a while.

A pack of creamy, dreamy vellum envelopes in various sizes.

All tied up with a beautiful bow...a present for me...

In other news, I have been loving this magazine. It is brand new and just amazing. I feel like this what I have been looking for. The first issue had an article about an amazing prop stylist that creates vignettes kind of like me (although much much better than I). I was completely hooked.

Check it out, you won't be dissapointed!

Free Download February Vignette

Here is what I came up with for my February Vignette.

This month I love the vellum arrows and postcard of the Cote D' Azur. I visited the French Rivera when backpacking after college and fell in love.  I would love to go back, but I think we will be stateside for a while until the kids get bigger.

Everything has a tinge of pink for the month of love...

Antique metallic patch...

Pill box, old linen and lovely heart.
Here is the link to download February's vignette. I hope you like it!

Here is my January Vignette! I hope you like these, because I am in love with doing them! I can't wait to get started on February!

January has lots of gold and sparkles in appreciation of the glittery new year.

A Trip To Renningers

Renningers Antique Extravaganza only happens three times a year and I try to go at least once. Since I had the kiddos it has gotten progressively harder to get away, so I was shocked and pleased to make it work this time.  Unfortunately, I didn't end up with much, but I had a great time. I also had plans to take photos of inspiring booths but I got there and was so excited I never took a single shot! I lugged my camera around 117 acres for nothing!
Here are the items that I picked up.

Antique photo frames...

This awesome pattern paper for embroidery. I can't wait to coat that in resin and see what happens! Also picked up some vintage pieces of tape measure.

My favorite items I found were these rusty iron numbers of all sizes and shapes. LOVE!

Of course I photographed them the most.

So that was my meager haul. Sorry it wasn't more exciting. There is always next time!

Collection 10-29-2012

Here are some more treasures I have collected over the years. I love these little items- I could spend all day picking through my objects for these little vignettes. I love to think about where they came from, who owned them and who let them go. Ok, enough chatter- here comes the good stuff:

This applique is the most dreamy silver color...

I like IKE...

I love this pink rock and antique hardware...

56 is not my lucky number, but it is now one of my favorites...

Let me know if you have any questions about my collection. I can pretty much tell you anything you would like to know...

Tongue in Cheek

I have been loving this blog for some time and it just so happened that I was looking for some new papers for the backs of my bezels and various projects. Corey has an online brocante where she sells items she finds at flea markets and sales in France and I just received the most beautiful packet of papers from her. I was so excited I grabbed out my camera and took some shots. These papers are over a 100 years old and just gorgeous. The handwriting is amazing! I hope this is not too much of an image overload. I couldn't help myself.

Oh- and just in case you were wondering what that is in the background: Italian metallic crepe paper. I swoon!

A Collection Of Paper

Another of my weaknesses is a love for vintage papers. I love the yellowing on the edges, the different textures, the perfect handwriting...I could go on and on. Some I use for projects and the ones that I cant bear to part with just get touched and admired. Here are some of the papers that are inspiring me lately:

Type cabinet drawer label, glasinine bag with the perfect piece of gold tape, old pocket notebook that I was sure contained a made up secret language until I realized it was just in shorthand (*blush* I mean who knew it was symbols like that??), pinwheel on ledger paper, slide negative, ticket, resined ledger paper, tarot card (love the plaid), more ledger paper, flashcard, resined pinwheels, gummed label, another flashcard, vintage postage and a prescription envelope.
All different ages and textures and all equally inspiring. Well except for the notebook- that is a little more amazing than the rest.

etsy about page

I have been working on updating my about page on esty and I took some pictures of my favorite items. After some trial and error, here is what I came up with:

Vintage thread, brooch, resin gemstone (my work), token & coin slot.

Plastic horses, more resin gemstones & a token.

Druzy & quartz.

Religious medal, tin box & brass case.

These are some of my favorite items! I collect everything from vintage papers, brass boxes, buttons, metallic thread and just about anything with a patina!
